SONNET 2 is the second generation of the popular SONNET audio processor. With the slogan “Made For You”, SONNET 2 has been designed to perfectly fit the hearing and lifestyle needs of its user.

SONNET 2 is available as both a cochlear implant audio processor and an electric acoustic stimulation (EAS) audio processor. Any MED-EL recipient with a SYNCHRONY series, MED-EL CONCERT series, PULSAR, SONATA series, and C40+ can use SONNET 2.

SONNET 2 is powered by FineHearing to provide the closest to natural hearing possible. FineHearing technology offers better hearing and a richer, fuller hearing experience.

In addition, SONNET 2 has Automatic Sound Management 3.0. This automatically changes the volume and other settings to match the hearing environment you are in. It also reduces background noise, so that you can hear more clearly in busy environments.

SONNET 2 uses dual microphones and the latest technology to give you microphone directionality. With two microphones, SONNET 2 can focus in on the sounds in front of you and drown out any background noise. This makes it easier to hear the most important sounds around you, especially in noisy environments.

Yes. Direct wireless streaming from your smartphone, tablet or TV streaming device to your SONNET 2 is possible with the optional AudioStream cover. The AudioStream cover slides over your battery pack, allowing you to stream phone calls and sound from any compatible device in high-quality true stereo. AudioStream works with all SONNET and SONNET 2 audio processors from as far back as 2014 and includes support for bilateral and bimodal users. SONNET 2 also connects to smartphones, TVs, computers, and more via AudioLink. AudioLink is a universal connectivity device that sends sound from your devices to SONNET 2, without you having to plug anything into your audio processor. AudioLink also works as a remote microphone. This means you can put it on the table, and hear the conversation more clearly at dinner, in meetings, or in many other situations.

SONNET 2 measures 56.7 mm high, 37.4 mm deep, and 9.3 mm wide. Including the battery pack and two zinc-air batteries, SONNET 2 weighs only 10.6 grams. With the Rechargeable Battery Micro, SONNET 2 weighs just 8.1 grams and is only 51.4 mm high.

SONNET 2’s individual parts come in many different colours. In fact there are 194,400 different colour combinations, making it really easy to match SONNET 2 to your style.

Yes. SONNET 2 has a splashproof design, allowing you to go out in the rain or get sweaty during an intense workout and not worry about the moisture damaging your processor.

What’s more, SONNET 2 is available with WaterWear waterproof covers. WaterWear is the ideal accessory for swimming, days on the beach, or other underwater activities.

SONNET 2 is available with both rechargeable and disposable batteries, and you can even switch between the two types. With two size 675 zinc-air batteries, SONNET 2 can go for up to 60 hours. Using our rechargeable options, you can enjoy up to 17 hours of power with the Rechargeable Battery Max, up to 10 hours with the Standard Rechargeable Battery, or up to 7 hours with the tiny and light Micro Rechargeable Battery.

SONNET 2 features four customized listening programs that utilize Automatic Sound Management, which automatically adjusts to changes in the environment and uses dual microphones to help drown out background noise.  Most recipients find they don’t often need to change settings manually, although this can be easily done with the FineTuner Echo remote control or the AudioKey 2 app for your smartphone. 

Yes, SONNET 2 is designed to stay securely on your head. For extra security, you can try one of the wearing options, such as ActiveWear, or a fixation option like the Activity Hook. SONNET 2 is also sweat resistant, so you can enjoy uninterrupted hearing during high-energy activities.

Yes. WaterWear is compatible with both SONNET and SONNET 2.

AudioStream is only available in mixed mode. This means you will always hear the audio you are streaming and your surroundings through the microphones of your audio processor at the same time at a similar volume.

Both RONDO 3 and SONNET 2 offer our latest sound coding technology, Automatic Sound Management 3.0. They also both have two microphones, offering a similar level of hearing performance. But when it comes to design, they have some distinct differences. RONDO 3 sits off the ear, whereas SONNET 2 hooks behind the ear. RONDO 3 is charged wirelessly and has an all-in-one design for extra simplicity. SONNET 2’s modular design makes it compatible with different wearing options like BabyWear. It also offers direct streaming with the AudioStream cover.
