MED-EL Announces ActiveWear, BabyWear and Design Covers for SONNET.
ActiveWear and BabyWear provide a lighter way to wear SONNET. New selection of Design Covers allow users to customise their audio processor
19th June 2017—(Innsbruck, Austria)—MED-EL, leading provider of hearing loss solutions, has launched two new wearing options and a range of design covers for the SONNET Audio Processor.
Developed for both adults and children alike, ActiveWear is the lightest and smallest wearing option available. It allows users to attach the audio processor battery pack to their clothing and wear just the lightweight control unit on their ear. BabyWear is designed for the youngest SONNET users, who may not be ready for a behind-the-ear device. The entire audio processor is worn on the body, leaving nothing on the ear.
The new Design Covers for SONNET’s DL-Coil offer users the opportunity to customise their audio processor to suit their style. There are various designs available, from art inspired patterns to natural hair colours, and fun covers for children.
Both BabyWear and ActiveWear are easy to attach to SONNET, and can be secured to clothing with the specially designed clips. ActiveWear comes with two different cables lengths, depending on the age of the user. Additionally, two Design Covers are included with each wearing option for further personalisation of SONNET.
These new wearing options enable MED-EL users to benefit from added comfort and extra security while wearing SONNET. Adults have the freedom to do the sports they love, children can hear in comfort all day long, and parents have the peace of mind that their baby’s SONNET will stay secure, whatever they get up to!
All three products will be available from summer 2017. For more information about ActiveWear, BabyWear and Design Covers, contact your local MED-EL representative.
About MED-EL
MED-EL Medical Electronics is a leading provider of hearing implant systems worldwide, and offers the broadest portfolio of hearing implant solutions. The company was founded by Austrian scientists and industry pioneers Ingeborg and Erwin Hochmair, who in 1977 together developed the world’s first microelectronic, multichannel cochlear implant. In 1990, they laid the foundation for the successful growth of the company when they hired their first employees. To date, the privately held company has over 1,600 employees around the world.
The cochlear implant was the first, and remains the only, replacement of a human sense—the sense of hearing. To treat the various types and degrees of hearing loss, MED-EL offers the widest range of implantable solutions, including cochlear, middle ear and bone conduction implant systems, as well as a system for combined electric and acoustic stimulation.
MED-EL’s mission is to overcome hearing loss as a barrier to communication and quality of life. Individuals in more than 100 countries have had their hearing restored with a MED-EL Hearing Implant System.
