MED-EL acquires BHM-Tech to further strengthen its expertise in innovative hearing solutions
September 12, 2024 – (Innsbruck, Austria): MED-EL, a global leader in hearing implant solutions, is excited to announce the acquisition of Austrian BHM-Tech, which took place in July 2024. A renowned expert for bone conduction hearing systems, BHM-Tech, headquartered in Grafenschachen (Burgenland, Austria), offers innovative solutions for people with hearing loss.
The acquisition further strengthens MED-EL’s position in the hearing solutions sector, broadening its product portfolio with sophisticated bone conduction technologies. It also emphasizes MED-EL’s commitment to continuously developing and offering innovative, high-quality hearing solutions designed to enhance the quality of life for people with hearing loss.
Seamless transition
After the successful handover of his company, BHM founder Franz Berl will retire. To ensure a smooth transition, he will continue to offer his know-how as a consultant. Markus Hütter, an experienced MED-EL employee for many years, was appointed as the new Mangaging Director for BHM-Tech. “We look forward to integrating BHM-Tech’s innovative product portfolio into the MED-EL family”, Hütter says. “Together, we will further advance the future of hearing technology and continue to offer first-class hearing solutions to our customers.”
